Helsinki’s floating restaurants
Suomenlinna's home town, Helsinki, is an awesome coastal city. It has perfect opportunities to offer when you want to enjoy fresh air with a view.
Lightship Relandersgrund
The red, amazing ship located in Pohjoisranta has a long history. It was built between 1886-1888 and is the oldest lightship in Finland. The ship was saved from a ship-breaking yard in 1991 and has been owned by the same person ever since. In Helsinki Relandersgrund has enlightened our nights since 2005 - before that it has seen e.g. Kotka's nightlife!
Ship's rooftop terrace serves between 1.5.20917 - 15.10.2017 between 12pm and 8pm (until 01.30am if busy)
You can also book Relandergrund's inner salon for events.

Floating restaurant Wäiski
Wäiski, a floating restaurant next to Merihaka, is open all year round. You can't miss the white ship - it's so tall it reaches Hakaniemi bridge in height.
Wäiski serves lunch every business day between 10:30am and 2pm. In addition to the daily lunch serving the ship offers it's premises to be booked for events. It has four floors that can be booked together or separately: it can host events for groups of 20-550 people.
You can find information about weekends available for booking until the end of July on Wäiski's webpage. Great service!

JT-Linen alukset
In our article about Helsinki Island Hopping we already wrote about JT-Line's vessels which operate routes to different islands and offers an island hopping service.
While you travel between islands, there's no need to worry about refreshments: the company's vessels have fully licensed cafés on board.
Merikerho - coming soon
Rumors are circulating about the town that a waterfront promenade is coming soon next to Sörnäisten rantatie. As a part of the promenade a floating restaurant called Merikerho is going to start serving people all-year round.
We're expecting more information to pop up on the restaurant's Facebook page.

Halkolaiturin Kaffe
In the middle of astonishing wooden sailing ships, a tiny café has emerged. They serve toast's and fairly priced, non-alcoholic beverages, and while you enjoy a break and a little deliciousness, you can admire gallant schooners and handsome three-masted vessels and dream about all the adventures they've seen!
Kaffe is open from Monday through Saturday between 12pm and 6pm, but look out your window before heading for a coffee - the café is closed in case of bad weather.
